Highlights from presenting at IC SAPTA 2026

I reflect a week on from my keynote presentation at IC SAPTA in Surakata (Indonesia), what an experience! I am very grateful for the experiences that 2026 continues to deliver. While it was a whirlwind weekend away at IC SAPTA 2026, the invitation to join a keynote speaking panel at an international sports medicine conference to talk about Endurance Runners was something i couldn't turn down, despite the busy time at home with Athlete's Edge Physiotherapy, research and family.
The engagement, desire to learn, and hospitality of the IC SAPTA organisers and attendees was inspiring. In particular, the desire of the sports medicine community in Surakata to improve their knowledge and inspire the future growth of the industry in Indonesia is admirable. Tours of sporting facilities (including the brand new and highly impressive Paraolympic facilities) and historical sites were a great addition to a highly enjoyable yet brief trip.
I want to extend a big thank you to the IC SAPTA organisation committee and RMIT University for making this opportunity happen. I look forward to building on the connections that came from the conference.
